lyrics

Well the spanish moss leaves they blow in the breeze and the birds sit high on the wire. And i know its not me theyve been coming to see but i can pretend for a while.

So i sit in my throne by my solemn and lone with my cancer and mud for my IV. And the engine hums grow on the street down below and Im watching them as they ride by me.

Now the shadows have gone theres a high noon a rising. The sun shines its glitter and gold on a street that parades all its suckers and slaves. Its a long road waving and winding.

See my mother she writes with my hopes of returning. She wonders how Ive got along. And she sends her regards on the moon and the stars with her visions of grandeur aside them.

But for my two days of traveling I got three months of pain and I aint got no dollar and no dime. Oh and all that I own is this sorrow tenfold so i tell her Im doing just fine.
